Hydrogen (H2) generation technology specialist Hydrogenics Corporation has secured funding to build two new H2 stations in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) in Canada.
The company was awarded the subsidy by Canada’s Federal Government’s Ministry of Natural Resources (NRCan) to build the sites for fuel cell vehicle (FCV) users in the country.
Under the funding, a total amount of $1.6m was allocated to the GTA Hydrogen Beachhead project, which includes the two H2 stations. It is anticipated that this deal will help to establish a new Canadian market for FCVs.
Daryl Wilson, President and CEO of Hydrogenics, enthused, “Having supplied H2 fuelling equipment to more than 50 public and private fuelling stations across the globe, it is particularly gratifying to deliver our expertise, with the support of NRCan, here at home.”
