The power solutions brand of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), Mitsubishi Power, has announced that Takasago Hydrogen Park, the world’s first integrated hydrogen validation facility, has entered full-scale operation.
Located at MHI’s Takasago Machinery Works in Hyogo Prefecture in west central Japan, the park has recently started up its production of hydrogen through electrolysis.
The park is divided into three sections: hydrogen production, storage and utilisation.
In the production area, an alkaline electrolyser manufactured by Norway-based HydrogenPro AS will produce up to 1,100 Nm3/h (normal cubic metres per hour) of hydrogen. The hydrogen produced will be stored in storage equipment with a total capacity of 39,000 Nm3.
