Hydrogen Canada Corp has secured $10m in financing to develop a low-carbon hydrogen/ammonia supply chain from Western Canada to South Korea and other Asian markets with E1 Corporation.
If successful, the facility will produce approximately one million tonnes per annum of low-carbon ammonia and utilise technology to capture and permanently sequester carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The project is set to be developed in the Alberta Industrial Heartland near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Initial feasibility studies on the project have already been completed.
Dr. Bryan Moon, President of Hydrogen Canada, said the project represents an opportunity to use cost advantages, low carbon natural gas in Alberta to support the decarbonisation of South Korea and other Asian countries.
