After a challenging few years, the squeeze on the supply of carbon dioxide in North America is now well-documented and well-understood.
It is a global issue, in fact, with supply problems cropping up almost everywhere – there were pressing shortages in New Zealand earlier this year, for example.
Recently, the industrial gases major Air Products added to the chorus on the CO2 challenge when it presented at IWDC’s PurityPlus event in late January in San Antonio, Texas. In that session, Business Director Jeff Bombich told delegates that the challenge was truly systemic because the molecular compound was unlike other areas of the industrial gas business in its reliance on sometimes inconsistently available feedgas sources for its production.
