On Wednesday (March 27), ADNOC announced the start of crude oil production from its Belbazem offshore block.
Nothing especially remarkable about that, you might think, for a 53-year-old corporate leader in oil and gas.
But the interesting element about Belbazem isn’t so much the utilisation of another untapped offshore block but how artificial intelligence (AI) and digitalisation are being embraced to enhance efficiency and safety and drive down emissions and costs.
The block is operated by Al Yasat Petroleum, a joint venture between ADNOC and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
