Tennessee-based Holston Gases has acquired Tri-Cities Dry Ice.
A specialist in dry ice production, Tri-Cities Dry Ice has operations in southwest Virginia and northwest Tennessee.
Joe Baxter, President of Holston Gases, said that combining Tri-Cities Dry Ice’s customer base with Holston’s distribution and production capabilities will allow the company to expand its dry ice distribution further into southern and central Virginia.”
Ed Boardwine, owner of Tri-Cities Dry Ice, said, “We are very proud to become a part of the larger Holston family. Combining our local presence with Holston’s people and resources will be great for our customers.
“It was important for us to join with a company that shared our core values, and we found that in Holston Gases. Our customer will really benefit from this combination.”
Holston Gases is headquartered in Knoxville and has 42 locations in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
The distributor also recently invested in its specialty gas brand with the installation of a Weldcoa Sur-Fill IQ-S Auto Blend Cell to produce calibration standards ranging from “percent” to parts-per-billion level.
Baxter said, “The accuracy and production capability of the equipment allows the company to better serve its customers with high-quality calibration standards at reduced lead times.”
“We have the pieces in place to move forward with our specialty gas growth plan.”
