A newly formed joint venture has today (19th Oct) launched in the hydrogen space, with plans to build a 15-tonnes-per-day hydrogen plant in St. Gabriel, Louisiana.
Named Hidrogenii, the joint venture is the result of a deal struck between hydrogen solutions provider Plug Power and chlor alkali manufacturer Olin Corporation.
Joint ventures are a key part of Plug Power’s business model, with the firm having previously built similar relationships with the likes of SK Group and the Renault Group.
The moves all support the firm’s wider ambition to produce 500 tonnes of liquid green hydrogen a day by 2025, which would prevent over four million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions in North America.
