Hexagon Purus, a subsidiary of Hexagon Composites, has been awarded a contract for the design, development, qualification and production of high-performance Type 4 composite pressure vessels for a new aerospace customer.
Valued at approximately $5.2m, the order marks Hexagon’s second collaboration in the aerospace industry in the past two years. The vessels order announced today will help its latest aerospace-focused customer launch its vehicles.
“We are excited to be working on this project and to be partners in the future of spaceflights,” said Jim Harris, Managing Director at Hexagon Purus.
The pressure vessels are due to be delivered in the first quarter of 2021. Future orders are expected to follow the successful delivery of the first shipment.
