Helium exploration and development company Helix Exploration has reported helium concentrations of 2.5% at the Clink #1 well at the Ingomar Dome project in Montana.
Described by the company’s CEO, Bo Sears, as “encouraging results,” the helium concentration follows Helix earlier this year reporting “significantly elevated” helium at the location.

Helix has tested three formations at Clink #1: Flathead, Charles, and Amsden. A surface gas sample from the Flathead formation, taken at 7,909–7,942 ft, showed 2.48% helium in a nitrogen mix with low CO2 and methane levels.
In addition to its helium findings, the Flathead formation also tested 55.2% hydrogen in a gas sample isolated from drilling mud, in contrast to a formation gas sample that showed 0.7% hydrogen.
“The unexpected findings in the Flathead formation represent a unique and exciting opportunity for Helix. We can see significant opportunities to collaborate with experts in the hydrogen field to understand the origins and potential of the Ingomar system.,” Sears added.
