Helium One has reached total depth at its Itumbula West-1 well in Tanzania, with its CEO, Lorna Blaisse, confirming elevated helium shows.
In an update released today (25th January), the helium exploration company said the helium shows were over twenty times above background while drilling through the Lake Beds Formation, Red Sandstone Group, Karoo, and Basement targets.
In addition to helium, the well also encountered a high concentration of hydrogen in the Lakebed Formation over a six-meter interval. Hydrogen shows also continued through the Karoo section and into the Basement.
Blaisse expanded, “The initial results from the Itumbula West-1 well are very positive. The wireline logs are the crucial next step in identifying which intervals we will test and sample for further evaluation.”
