International helium production company, Helium One, has announced the commencement of its exploration drilling programme in Rukwa, Tanzania.
The drilling began on the 12th of June at its flagship project. The Rukwa Project is a large-scale, globally unique, high-grade, primary helium project in Tanzania.
With the potential to become a strategic asset in resolving a supply-constrained market, a report from SRK Consulting stated a ‘Best Estimate’ un-risked prospective recoverable helium resource of 138 Bcf (2U/P50).
The report also found helium measured in surface seeps at up to 10.6% He, becoming the largest listed primary helium deposit in the world.
