A helium gas cylinder explosion has killed a balloon seller in Mumbai’s western suburbs.
A local police official said that the 20-year old balloon seller, Manish Awsare, sustained injuries to the face and chest when the cylinder exploded while he was refilling it.
Awsare, along with his father, had gone to blow balloons at an engagement ceremony at a lounge near Daana Pani beach in Malad West, in the Mumbai suburbs locality, the official added.
The official said that he could not check the pressure of the cylinder and overfilled it, as the metre on cylinder was not working; this caused the leakage and within few minutes, the explosion took place.
