Strong demand and sharp price increases of helium and argon are contributing to the diversification and growth of gas recovery systems.
That was an observation shared by Alfonso Peschiera, Vice-President and Business Line Manager of High-Pressure Products for Air and Gases at Atlas Copco, when he recently sat down with gasworld.
“Diversification of segments using specialty gases has grown significantly,” he said. “Helium and argon, for example, are becoming increasingly used in emerging industries like semiconductors, batteries, and specialised welding equipment.”
As demand for these gases rises, the prices increase, and availability decreases. In turn, this makes the return on investment for installing gas recovery systems much more compelling.
