Hanwha Corporation and INEOS Nitriles are exploring the development of a one million tonnes per annum low-carbon ammonia facility with carbon sequestration in the US.
Under a signed Heads of Terms deal, the duo will explore the feasibility of the site to meet growing demands. This work will also include selecting a location for the plant.
A final investment decision is expected in 2026, with planned operations in 2030.
Kiwon Yang, CEO of Hanwha Corporation, said the collaboration is aimed at strengthening a foothold in the global ammonia market and addressing the growing demand for clean ammonia solutions.
