H2 Logic, subsidiary of Norwegian business NEL ASA, has signed a contract to develop a new, large-scale production plant for hydrogen (H2) refuelling stations in Herning, Denmark.
The new factory will have an annual capacity to manufacture H2 refuelling stations sufficient to support 200,000 new fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) each year, making it the world’s largest factory for manufacturing H2 refuelling stations.
The H2Station® aims to increase refuelling capacity and performance, as well as reduce costs and carbon footprints. This new technology has been designed for mass volume manufacturing, which is essential to achieve sufficient scale benefits.
Even if a refuelling station is relatively complex, it is just another piece of equipment that has to have a small footprint, high uptime, and low cost of ownership
H2 Logic’s investment in the project amounts to NOK 85m ($10.2m). When ramp-up and plant optimisation is complete, the new plant will have a production capacity of up to 300 refuelling stations per year.
