A landmark agreement has been signed between H-Energy and Petrobangla for commencement of a re-gasified LNG (R-LNG) supply to Bangladesh through a cross border natural gas pipeline.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed on the 16th June 2021, comes after authorisation by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), the regulatory body in India, to build a natural gas pipeline that connects H-Energy’s LNG terminal in West Bengal to enable cross border supply of R-LNG into Bangladesh.
H-Energy’s Kanai Chhata-Shrirampur pipeline is the only pipeline to be laid cross-border into Bangladesh to have received authorisation from PNGRB.
Speaking about the agreement, Darshan Hiranandani, CEO of H-Energy, said, “This is a key milestone in the future of Indo Bangladesh energy cooperation.”
