Grand Gulf Energy has received all the necessary approvals to start drilling the Jesse-3 well, part of the wider Red Helium project in Utah.
The Jesse-3 well is located near the Redd-1 well and is positioned on a seismic high.
In a statement released today (6th August), Grand Gulf Energy said that an updated well design features casing and perforates the entire basinal stratigraphic section.
This is thought to add significant helium upside to the already identified Mississippian Leadville dolomite and Devonian McCracken sandstone targets, which three sub-salt secondary targets identified.
