Carbon capture and transportation technology solutions in Alberta, Canada are set to be boosted by a new $30m funding opportunity that will help the province achieve its decarbonisation goals.
The Government of Alberta on Friday (14th Jan) said it will provide Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) with the capital from the Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction (TIER) fund to encourage the development of various technologies.
ERA’s newly launched Carbon Capture Kickstart competition will take the $30m to support pre-construction design and engineering of carbon capture and transportation technologies – and it’s now calling for proposals.
Focused on site-specific carbon capture, direct air capture, and carbon transportation infrastructure, proposals can address emissions across industrial sectors: power generation, cement production, manufacturing, oil and gas, and more.
