Financial conglomerate Goldman Sachs has closed on a large equity investment into US-based biomethane (also called renewable natural gas or RNG) infrastructure specialist Synthica Energy (Synthica).
Funded to an undisclosed amount through Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM)’s Infrastructure Business, the deal aims to accelerate the development of Synthica’s biomethane facilities in key target markets across the country including Ohio, Texas, Georgia, Kentucky and Louisiana.
Founded in 2017, Synthica uses food and beverage waste and other organic manufacturing by-products as feedstock for biogas.
