General Motors (GM) reportedly wants to see a ‘hydrogen highway’ developed that would allow the fuel cell cars now under development, to drive from one end of New York state to the other.
Hydrogen highways have been a dream concept for some time now, though GM appears determined to make such concepts a reality, in New York state at least.
The company’s officials visited the Tonawanda engine plant near Buffalo recently, with two hydrogen-powered Chevrolet Equinox vehicles to demonstrate the emerging technology.
According to reports by the Associated Press, Daniel O’Connell of GM’s fuel cell lab in Honeoye Falls says the company is working with state energy officials, towads the development of a series of filling stations across the state.
