Gazprom is set to become one of the world’s major helium players when it increases its helium production by 13 times through the Amur Gas Processing Plant, according to the Russian company.
Gazprom says the Amur GPP project, which it is building in the far southeast of Russia, is 66% complete and claimed at a presentation in St Petersburg that the huge facility will have a capacity of up to 60 million cubic metres of helium per year.
“After the Amur GPP reaches its full capacity, Gazprom will become a major player in the international helium market,” said Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.
