US manufacturing is on the rise, with the country having more than doubled its manufacturing construction spend in 2023, positively impacting the industrial gases market.
This trend was highlighted by Linde and TOMCO Systems at the GAWDA SMC, with Scott Rummans of Linde and Jeff Holyoak of TOMCO telling delegates there is a lot of opportunity.
The duo said geopolitical concerns, local-political concerns, US legislation, tariff wars, and supply chain costs were all factors driving the reshoring of US manufacturing.
“All of these things are driving manufacturing back to the US, which is outstanding for the industrial gas space,” Holyoak said. “But it’s not going to change overnight, and it’s the companies that see this trend happening and proactively focus their businesses to support the reshoring of US manufacturing that will lead the pack.”
