A new gas filling station offering liquified natural gas (LNG) and liquified biogas (LBG) for heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) has been opened by Gasum in Sweden.
The new station located in Torsvik, south of Jönköping, is Gasum’s fourth gas filling station in Sweden, illustrating the company’s strong investment in expanding and developing the Nordic gas infrastructure.
In early 2019, the European Union presented new emission standards for HDVs which states carbon emissions from the vehicles need to be reduced by 30% by 2030. The regulations have resulted in increased demand for low-emission fuels such as LNG and LBG.
