Finland-based energy company Gasum has signed a deal with Finnish firm Vieremän Lämpö ja Vesi Oy to supply biogas to its biogas terminal located in the municipality of Vieremä, Finland.
A hotspot for district heat, water and sewage treatment plants, Vieremä is the site of a major biogas-based project which is currently under construction.
The first phase of the project will involve the construction of a reception terminal for liquefied and compressed biogas, a backup biogas-fired power plant and a gas filling station serving transport.
Gasum, which will supply the biogas to the terminal in liquefied form, stated,”Gasum produces biogas in its own 17 biogas plants in Finland and Sweden and buys it from certified Nordic and European suppliers.”
