Galveston LNG Bunker Port (GLBP), a joint venture between Seapath Group and Pilot LNG, has today (21stFebruary) joined SEA-LNG, a coalition focused on the commercial and environmental benefits of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for maritime applications.
News of GLBP’s membership follows its announced plans to develop, construct, and operate the US Gulf Coast’s first dedicated facility supporting the fuelling of LNG vessels.
The shore-based LNG liquefaction facility will be located on Shoal Point in Texas City, part of the greater Houston-Galveston port complex, one of the busiest ports in the US. It is expected to be on-stream in 2026.
Jonathan Cook, CEO of Pilot LNG, said that, as part of SEA-LNG, GLBP will have access to insights and expertise across the whole value chain, which will help to better the development.
