GAIL Limited and Vitol Asia have signed a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) agreement.
Under terms of the deal, Vitol will supply GAIL with one million metric tonnes of LNG per annum for a period of approximately 10 years. Delivery will begin in 2026.
Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL, said the long-term deal will help bridge India’s demand and supply gap of natural gas.
He added, “India is a significant and growing LNG market, and we are excited to bring LNG supply from our global LNG portfolio to meet this rising natural gas demand in India.”
