Foster Wheeler AG has announced that its Global Power Group is expanding its power boiler division in Germany and Finland by creating two new service centres. The new additions will supply spare parts, boiler pressure vessel components such as superheaters and economisers, and boiler modernisations to existing plants in these regions.
Tomas Harju-Jeanty, President and CEO of Foster Wheeler Energia Oy Group, remarked, “Both new service centres support Foster Wheeler’s service expansion strategy and strongly improve our ability to provide high quality localised service for virtually any brand/make of power boiler. The service centres will also enable us to provide 24 hour emergency service for plant operators.”
Foster Wheeler service capability in Germany is strengthened by the recent move to a new service centre in Krefeld-Linn, situated in North-west Germany. The new centre stands over 2,300 sq metres of office and workshop space, is open for emergency service and will be completely functional by the end of the year. The workshop benefits from full equipment including tube bending and welding machinery, cranes and storage facilities as well as equipment for site work. The centre also offers complete infrastructure for emergency repair service in Germany and its neighbouring countries.
Meanwhile, a further service centre is to open in Finland at the start of November 2010. The new facility will be located in Kurikka, in the province of Western Finland. It is hoped to bring Foster Wheeler’s service operations closer to existing plant operations in the region. The Kurikka service centre occupies 2,000 square metres and includes office premises. The workshop will incorporate tube-bending and welding machines and cranes among other equipment.
