German fossil-free fuel producer P1 Performance Fuels (P1) has announced that it will open a new financing round for mass market entry as part of its aim to scale-up production, which includes the construction of a demonstration plant in Germany to open in 2024.
According to the company, its fossil fuel-free Advanced Synthetic Fuels achieve a carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction of 77.4% compared to conventional petrol (well-to-wheel).
On a tank-to-wheel basis, it claims that the manufacturing process closes the carbon cycle by capturing the same amount of CO2 during production as P1’s fuel releases during combustion.
