Fluor Corporation has joined forces with carbon dioxide (CO2) mineral storage operator Carbfix to develop integrated carbon capture and storage (CCS) solutions for hard-to-abate industries.
Under terms of a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the companies will focus on an end-to-end CO2 reduction solution and combine their respective expertise to do so.
Fluor will provide its Econamine FG PlusSM carbon capture technology, while Carbfix will utilise its solution that dissolves CO2 in water and injects it into porous basaltic rock formations.
The MoU also allows the two companies to pursue CO2 removal projects, such as direct air capture and bioenergy carbon capture and storage.
