Shanghai reportedly received its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) import cargo on Saturday 15th November, the Shanghai Gas (Group) Co. revealed in an announcement by email this week.
The announcement reported that a 20,000-cubic-meter LNG carrier from Malaysia arrived at Shanghai’s Mengtougou terminal. However, the report did not specify the volume of the cargo.
Shanghai Gas Group stated that it will continue to purchase spot LNG cargos from Malaysia as the Mengtougou terminal, the smaller of the two LNG terminals being developed in Shanghai, has a limited LNG storage capacity, totalling 120,000 cubic meters.
