The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued an extension to its order authorising the development of Driftwood LNG, near Lake Charles, Louisiana, requiring the site to be complete by April 2029.
Tellurian, the owner of the Driftwood LNG facility, applied for the extension last year to ensure it had enough time to complete the construction of all five plants in the facility. And today (16th February), it was crowned successful.
Once complete, the facility will have a capacity of ~27.6 million tonnes per annum.
Octávio Simões, CEO of Tellurian, said the company has already invested over a billion dollars in Driftwood LNG’s development and has approval to export.
