Everest Kanto Cylinder (EKC) recently announced that it plans to raise the capacity of its new plant at Gandhidham in Gujarat to 500,000 cylinders a year from the current rated capacity of 340,000 cylinders.
The new unit, with current operating capacity of about 50 percent, was commissioned last year.
EKC, with a capacity to manufacture 700,000 cylinders annually, has three manufacturing facilities in India and one overseas. The company is setting up another facility in China, while looking for more locations worldwide.
