Norwegian energy company Equinor has signed a 15-year liquified natural gas (LNG) purchase agreement with US LNG developer Cheniere.
Under terms of a signed deal, Cheniere will supply Equinor with around 175 million tonnes of LNG annually from its Sabine Pass Liquification Project, with half of the volume starting from 2027.
The agreement brings the total volumes that Equinor has contracted with Cheniere to approximately 3.5 million tonnes per year, following a previous contract inked in June 2022.
