Pipeline transportation specialist EnLink Midstream has teamed up with ExxonMobil to support the oil and gas company’s carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) efforts in the Gulf Coast.
According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Gulf Coast is responsible for one of the highest concentrations of industrial carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the US, generating over 215 million metric tonnes per year.
ExxonMobil has several operations in the region, including exploration and production, refining, chemical manufacturing, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) operations.
In addition to supporting ExxonMobil’s CCS effort, the partnership will also help provide efficient CCS solutions to CO2-emitting companies and industries. Cementing this, the two companies are developing a strategic relationship to serve these customers.
