France-based energy company ENGIE has announced its acquisition of UK-based biomethane producer Ixora Energy Ltd (Ixora).
Secured for £64.8m ($79.4m), the buy-out will see ENGIE adding three new production units to its portfolio, based in Devon and Somerset.
The units can generate around 160 gigawatt hours (GWh) of biomethane each year and will add to ENGIE’s total production capacity across Europe of 670 GWh.
