A partnership between three leading European energy companies aims to develop the renewable natural gas (also called biomethane) industry in France through what is the longest Biomethane Purchase Agreement ever signed in the country.
The 13-year contract was signed earlier this month and has seen Waga Energy selling the biomethane produced at Veolia’s Val Pôle in Claye-Souilly (north-central France) to Engie.
The deal builds on a 2022 agreement for Veolia to supply Waga with biogas from the Claye Souilly landfill site to produce biomethane using its patented WAGABOX technology.
