Scandinavian energy infrastructure firm Nordion Energy (Nordion) aims to boost the share of liquid biogas (Bio-LNG) in the fuel mix having signed a deal with St1 to supply more biogas to the transport and industrial sectors in Sweden.
Nordion is planning a new facility in the Port of Gothenburg where biogas will be liquefied and transported to customers in different parts of the country.
St1 will purchase parts of the capacity as outlined in the deal, which targets the replacement of fossil fuels in shipping, heavy road transport and industries.
“This is a great opportunity to reach out with biogas to ships, road transport and also industries that are not directly connected to the gas grid,” said Carolina Wisten, Marketing Manager at Nordion Energi.
