Plug Power has started production at what it says is the largest electrolytic hydrogen production plant and electrolyser deployment currently operating in the US.
Located in Woodbine, Georgia, and developed in 18 months, the plant is designed to produce 15 tonnes per day of liquid electrolytic hydrogen. This output is achieved with eight 5MW PEM electrolysers.
Once produced, the hydrogen is then condensed into liquid form for delivery to customers.
Andy Marsh, CEO of Plug Power, described the start-up as a historic milestone for both the company and the hydrogen ecosystem.
