B2B e-commerce specialist ECI Software Solutions has acquired Khameleon Software, a cloud-based ERP software company.
Described as a strategic move, the deal expands ECI’s distribution portfolio with technology designed to support long-term needs and future growth plans.
Trevor Gruenewald, CEO of ECI Software Solutions, said, “Khameleon adds a modern technology platform to our portfolio that solidifies a strong future for our customers.”
“Khameleon customers can expect the same support they’ve always known with continued investment in product development, innovation, and long-term growth planning.”
Specifically, Khameleon will enhance ECI’s TeamDesign€ EPR platform, designed to increase productivity and profitability.
By adding Khameleon’s cloud-based ERP, commercial furniture dealers are expected to more easily manage unique needs and scale their businesses.
Khameleon’s team will join ECI’s distribution division.
In a recent interview with gasworld, Dave Bent, Senior Vice-President of Operations, Ecommerce Division, ECI Software Solutions, discussed the importance of digitsation in the gases and welding industry.
In an ever-more online world, industrial gas distributors are unusual in that most only sell a little online. It means that a distributor that generates 20% of its sales from its online platform is a leader in the market in terms of e-selling, but the opportunity is there and is growing.
The statistic was shared by Bent, who noted that while the gas and welding space may seem like it is playing catch-up in the world of digitization, it’s no further behind than the wider industrial products market – and in any case context is everything.
