A joint venture between Vopak and Gasunie, Gate terminal B.V. received its first carbon-neutral liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo last month.
The cargo was purchased by TotalEnergies and OMV.
With reduction of its carbon footprint in mind, Gate terminal use waste-heat during the regasification of its LNG before supply. By avoiding burning gas the company minimise carbon dioxide emissions and increase overall sustainability.
A statement released on the Gate terminal website read, “Together with our partners, we will continue to take initiatives such as our recently announced and ISCC-certified bio-LNG activity to further reduce the impact of our activities”
