Carbon dioxide (CO2) availability is still a challenge today in some parts of the US, and prices remain high.
The assessment is from Allen Jezouit, Vice-President of Product Management and Digital Marketing at Meritus Gas Partners, which has a growing network of North American distributors.
“There is demand disruption right now in some contexts in carbon dioxide,” Jezouit told gasworld in interview for a feature in the forthcoming July issue of gasworld US.
“Prices are much higher in places, partly because some ethanol sources have gone away, reducing overall capacity, and partly because source costs have gone up. CO2 is always different from the atmospheric gases, which are more reliable and predictable as a source, and this year is no different.”
