The Greensand carbon dioxide (CO2) storage project will be backed by a consortium after its 29 members signed up to phase two of Europe’s first full Chain Climate Carbon Capture and Storage Pilot project.
With the proof-of-concept planning now underway, a grant application will be filed by the consortium with the Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Program in Denmark.
A successful grant will see work beginning by the end of 2021 and the offshore injection pilot starting in late 2022.
