Dearman has hired its first full-time engineering apprentice to work on a range of disciplines including testing, development and machining.
Cameron Douglas, a student at Kingston College in Surrey, will work with the clean cold and power technology enterprise’s engineering team for four days a week as part of the course.
Nick Owen, Dearman’s Chief Technology Officer, said, “Cameron joins a rapidly growing team of engineers, and will have opportunities at Dearman to work with truly cutting-edge technology. At Dearman we are committed to encouraging the engineers of tomorrow, recognising that they will be vital to the success of not only our own technologies, but also the growth of the UK’s burgeoning clean technology industry.
“Dearman has an exciting and busy year ahead, with first field trials of our zero-emission transport refrigeration system commencing alongside new product development, so there is no doubt that Cameron will have lots to do.”
