United Parcel Service (UPS), the world’s largest package delivery company, has added cryogenic shipping to its delivery portfolio in Europe, with the help of US business, Cryoport.
These two corporations have teamed up to launch UPS Temperature True® Cryo, which provides healthcare customers access to end-to-end product protection and offers the capability to ship parcels in a cryogenic environment across the European continent.
The solution uses Cryoport’s cryogenic containers, allowing UPS customers to use liquid nitrogen (N2) stored in dry vapour form to keep products frozen at -150°C for up to 10 days, whilst in transit or storage.
The service also includes real-time tracking and provides complete visibility for shipments at every stage of the supply chain journey, providing undeniable value to researchers and lab technicians who often ship invaluable specimens and samples requiring cryopreservation.
