CSMC Technologies, a Chinese device producer headquartered in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, has completed construction of Fab #2, a new fab to produce eight inch wafers.
CSMC has four preprocess fabs in Wuxi, but all have six inch production lines.
With the completion of the eight inch Fab #2, costs will be greatly decreased, and competitiveness will be greatly improved.
The company plans to double the number of wafers produced each month, to 60,000 during the third quarter of 2012.
