The supply of industrial gases across North American markets is robust right now, but the picture is also complex and needs to be watched.
The warning about market uncertainties was one of the messages from the IWDC’s Rich Mansmann, presenting on the first day of the purchasing and marketing cooperative’s three-day Gas Meeting in Santa Rosa, California, which is underway.
“Complexity is the reality today,” said Mansmann. “Be wary of any accounts you hear that over-simplify the market and its many dynamics.”
The supply of the three atmospheric gases – nitrogen, oxygen, and argon – is generally good right now, with plenty of capacity across North America, said Mansmann. But he warned that moving some molecules, like argon, to where they are needed sometimes posed logistical challenges.
