Chesterfield Special Cylinders (CSC), a UK-based cylinder manufacturer, has promoted a current employee to become the company’s first ever Director of its Integrity Management (IM) division.
Ex-Army Commander, Stephen Butler, will be the first employee to take charge of CSC’s service-based business unit, which inspects and tests safety-critical high-pressure gas cylinder and tube installations in semi-submersible rigs, dive support vessels, submarines and other major gas storage facilities around the world.
Butler previously served as a repair team Commander in the British Army and completed active service in both the Middle East and Northern Ireland, before working at the Sheffield-based business for 10 years as both an International Development Manager and, most recently as Technical Manager.

His new role will include developing CSC’s customer base in the oil and gas, naval and ground storage sectors.
