Cheniere Energy achieves first LNG projection at Corpus Christi stage three

Cheniere Energy has successfully produced the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the first train of its Corpus Christi stage three liquefaction project in Texas.

The third stage of the Corpus Christi project consists of seven mid-scale trains, with an expected total production capacity of over 10 million tonnes per annum of LNG.

As of 30th November 2024, Corpus Christi stage three was just under 80% complete.

Cheniere expects substantial completion of the first train to be achieved by the end of the first quarter, over six months ahead of the guaranteed completion date.

The total expected production capacity of Corpus Christi is over 25 million tonnes per annum of LNG.

Chart Industries has supplied the project with its IPSMR® process technology for LNG liquefaction and associated equipment. The company has congratulated Cheniere on its production milestone.
