Chart Industries is expected to fabricate the largest shop-built cryogenic tanks ever manufactured globally at its second facility in Theodore, Alabama.
Set to begin production in the first quarter (Q1) 2024, the site will manufacture tanks for the aerospace industry, hydrogen and LNG storage for the marine industry, and other processes and technologies in the sciences and decarbonisation industries.
Dubbed Teddy 2, the site is expected to achieve annual revenues of more than $175m.
The US cryogenic equipment manufacturer began construction of the 127,000 square foot facility in Theodore in early April 2023. Completion is due in April of 2024.
