Chart Inc. has launched a trailer mounted, stand-alone, fully mobile oxygen supply unit, primarily intended to deliver an immediate and uninterrupted supply of gas to hospitals and mass casualty events and disasters, both natural and human generated.
The trailer will appeal to hospitals facing potential interruptions in their main oxygen supply due to construction, maintenance, or change over between gas suppliers. The ‘drop and go’ design allows a fast start-up and other design considerations include driver or curb side fill for maximum convenience.
Oxygen is the critical consumable resource in disaster management and a large influx of patients can strain resources. Moreover, most back-up systems consist of cylinders, which are cumbersome, dangerous if mishandled and often in short supply. The Chart trailer uses stored liquid oxygen, which replicates the main supply system the professionals will be familiar with, and enables oxygen to be delivered to the point of use – quickly and efficiently.
